We all know the Hausa proverb which says “Yara Manyan Gobe”, but the gobe (tomorrow) never comes. Do you know why?
We always make ourselves sycophants creating aura of superhuman nature to those politicians and praising them with different sort of names destroying our right and making it to became privilege just to get their approval, is that politics? This is sycophantic aspect of politics which is savage in nature.
This is because we lack political hygiene and political civilization as well as political consciousness in our dear prestigious state; which is sign of illiteracy.
Today, our people especially those from Nguru, Geidam, Potiskum, Damaturu, Karasuwa and Machina exhibit this sycophantic behavior as their main source of income, status and reputation.
Thus, the politician then look down at the masses who are majority and find a way to manipulate them. They use the propaganda propagandize by those sycophant as their main source of data. When they declare you as their critics you will never enjoy your right. Oh you my people Yobeans why do you chose to behave as illiterates?
It’s only in Nguru where some of the sycophant value their politicians more than their parent, it also happens in Potiskum, Geidam and Gashua which is the main root of misunderstanding between our people. And this serves as the basis for feud between two or more opposing party which led to destruction of property (often) as well as demolishing of any sort of respect between them.
Oh my people (Yobeans)!!! Why do we behave as savage and barbarians? Are we not humanist?
Let us be peace advocates and humanists as well as activists. We are leaders of tomorrow, together we fight against inhumanity and build a modern Yobe.
